30 juz

The Quran is divided into 30 equal parts. During Ramadan, one juz is read each day to complete the Quran in a month.

Each juz is divided into two hizbs. This is the standard division used in Ottoman and Medina mushafs.

¼

Rub' al-Hizb (Quarter)

240 units

Each hizb is divided into four quarters. They are marked in the mushaf margins with ¼, ½, ¾ symbols.

Reservation Time Limit

When you reserve a section of the Quran, you have 10 times the estimated reading time to complete it. After that, the reservation is automatically released so others can continue. Example: For a Hizb (~26 min reading time), you have about 4 hours.
